This Is How I Enhance Someone’s Cover Letter…

The problem with writing a cover letter for someone from scratch means asking a whole bunch of questions and spending more time on the details than necessary.  But when I get the chance to edit someone’s cover letter, I already know what they’re trying to say and help say it for them better!  Now, I will write a cover letter from scratch, if need be — had to do it on several occasions — but making it edits are so much fun.  You get to liven it up a bit!

The Cover Letter Before:

My years of experience learning and practicing the ins and outs of entrepreneurship has prepared me well to fill the position of Motivated Personal Assistant. I am a highly organized and motivated individual. I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure, independently, and with others. I have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs. I type 64 WPM and can work via home office and telecommuting abilities, and onsite via MacBook Pro and Google Chromebook. I have experience in business, fashion, entertainment, publishing, public relations, event planning and production, consulting, and management.

For the past five years I have been working on my own businesses, as well as others by providing consulting, management, and business development for startups. I started my first business in 2009 which was a fashion and lifestyle magazine. I have put out three print issues, as well as ran the magazine’s website with weekly posts. In addition to my magazine I released my first cookbook and began creating a brand that is constantly evolving. Being an entrepreneur has been a lot of trial and error, but it has also allowed me the knowledge to be able to teach others and avoid the same mistakes I made.

My previous employment, business and project oriented experience has been in business development, fashion, entertainment, publishing, public relations, event planning and production, consulting, and management.
