I’ve been talking a lot about letters of recommendation lately. For two reasons, to be honest. One, it’s always great to include a letter of recommendation in your application package or professional portfolio. And two, the power of someone else tooting your horn for you is more powerful than you tooting your own horn.
It’s expected that you’re going to speak well of yourself. And you should. Duh! But getting other people to speak highly of you is better. And yes, getting others to speak highly of you is expected as well, but having a former boss or coworker detail your work in a favorable light, will do more wonders for you than you can all on your own.
You might want to start collecting those recommendations while you can.
