Two things you shouldn’t neglect on your résumé:
1. Your professional summary in which you sum up your experience and skills.
*remember, your résumé needs to be written for the employer’s benefit (how can you add value to their organization)
2. Your professiol development. You know all those workshops and trainings and seminars you attended? They actually come in handy even after the day of the event. Why? Because employers want to you know how serious you are about your career, they want to know do you invest in yourself.
As an example, I attended the Digital Marketing Bootcamp yesterday here in Hollywood where speakers from Yahoo, Microsoft and Google spoke small business owner attendees about correcting and perfecting their digital marketing presence. No, it wasn’t a free event. It was an investment I placed in myself for my long term career goals.
An investment every who is serious about having a career of their dreams should make.
