Senior Graphic Designer

The Senior Graphic Designer is a creative, collaborative individual responsible for the design and production of all print and digital material for the Temple’s brands, including our schools, camps, and adult programs. Reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing.

Duties

  • From concept to final product, produce digital and print materials, including newsletters, brochures, web graphics, signage, ads, invitations, etc., maintaining the organization’s brand and style guidelines, working closely with the Communications Associate, who oversees content
  • Develop marketing and advertising campaigns to promote our schools, cultural programs, fundraisers
  • Provide design direction to team members, staff members, and freelancers
  • Set production timelines and deliver projects within budget and on deadline
  • Coordinate with copywriters and editors to prepare content 
for design
  • Create web graphics and update website content
  • Manage and maintain graphic files, including logos, photos, and artwork
  • Organize and preserve photo archives
  • Maintain an ongoing list of current projects and provide weekly status updates
  • Prep and package files for print
  • Work with print vendors to guarantee all details of a project are successfully executed, including approving proofs and attending press checks
  • Coordinate mailing and distribution of printed materials

Qualifications

  • BA in design or related communications field
  • Portfolio demonstrating creativity, excellent layout and typography skills
  • Minimum of three years experience on a communications and marketing team
  • Familiarity with the Jewish holidays and life cycle
  • Strong understanding of brand identity and marketing strategy
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite for Mac (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat); Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Netcommunity Blackbaud CMS a plus
  • Knowledge of printing, prepress, digital output, social media
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects at a time and meeting deadlines
  • Great ability to work collaboratively and with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
